Manchester City Council has opened market engagement for the fifth generation of its North West Construction Hub high value projects framework, expected to be worth around £1bn.
The new four-year deal will run from January 2027 to January 2031 and cover a vast range of public-sector building work, from schools and universities to civic centres, hospitals, crematoria, and police facilities.
The present fourth-generation, high-value framework deal for projects worth more than £8m was streamlined to eight firms from a dozen in the prior arrangement.
An online engagement campaign and virtual briefing session will invite current and prospective contractors to help shape the next iteration, drawing on lessons learned from live frameworks.
The Hub plans to collate feedback from both clients and delivery partners before finalising procurement documents.
The framework will remain one of the largest regional construction routes in the UK, used by councils, health trusts, universities and emergency services across the North West.
Interested firms must register through The Chest e-tender portal before 11 November 2025 to take part in the preliminary market engagement.
