Morgan Sindall has just broken ground on a landmark 217,000 sq ft science and innovation building in the heart of Manchester’s Knowledge Quarter.
Kadans Science Partner is behind the £100m landmark Plus Ultra Manchester scheme, which is located within the Oxford Road Corridor.
The scheme forms the centrepiece of the wider £450m Upper Brook Street masterplan, which includes 490,000 sq ft of mixed-use space with labs, student accommodation and community facilities.
Sustainability is central to the design, with the building set to be fully electric and targeting BREEAM Excellent, EPC A and WiredScore Gold. It will feature significant rooftop solar, efficient controls, and high-performance façades.
Morgan Sindall’s North West area director Steven Gregory added: “This landmark scheme marks a major step in Manchester’s growth as a centre for life sciences and innovation.”
