Developer Oval Real Estate has submitted revised plans for a major high-rise cluster scheme in Manchester doubling the number of flats to 800.

The updated Albert Bridge House scheme replaces the previously approved 2023 proposal with a three-building plan, including two octagonal residential towers rising to 49 and 37 storeys, and an 18-storey commercial office block.

Set near the historic Albert Bridge over the River Irwell, the site is currently occupied by car parks and outdated office buildings, including the original 18-storey Albert Bridge House.

Architect Studio Egret redesigned project to respond to changing economic conditions.

The new tower layouts allow for dual-aspect flats, better ventilation, and sweeping city and river views.

The lower office building has been designed to meet Net Zero Carbon standards, featuring thermally responsive façades and smart climate systems.
