SHJ Medical & Lab Gas Specialists, a leading supplier of medical and lab gas pipeline systems and  services recently offered a swift solution to United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (ULTH),  when their previous supplier went into administration.

Faced with a critical timeline, SHJ was able to provide a complete solution within a two-week timeframe, from initial quote to commissioning of medical and surgical air plant.

Prior to the install, essential repairs were undertaken to fix a leaky medical air valve, so that the  system could run on cylinders during the installation, ensuring uninterrupted supply of medical and  surgical air. SHJ also met with the electrical team working on site so that all electrics were prepped in  advance, ensuring a seamless delivery of services.

The plant was manufactured, commissioned and tested in-house at SHJ’s Head Office site and  delivered using SHJ’s own HGV lorry, eliminating the need for reliance on any 3rd party suppliers.

Roger Hardwick, SHJ’s Northern Installations Director said: “This is a great example of teams pulling together and highlights SHJ’s strengths and capabilities  when faced with tight deadlines.”

Gem Petherbridge, Deputy Head of Capital, ULTH NHS Trust added:  “The works went really well, considering we had to amend and rethink at very short notice. The  response received from SHJ who progressed with the works, following the breakdown of the  previous contractor, was brilliant.”
