{"id":1127,"date":"2018-12-04T23:26:15","date_gmt":"2018-12-04T23:26:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=1127"},"modified":"2018-12-04T23:26:15","modified_gmt":"2018-12-04T23:26:15","slug":"manchester-met-uni-seeks-firms-for-60m-engineering-faculty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/manchester-met-uni-seeks-firms-for-60m-engineering-faculty\/","title":{"rendered":"Manchester Met Uni seeks firms for \u00a360m engineering faculty"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Manchester Metropolitan University has started prequalifying firms for a \u00a360m project to build a science and engineering building.<\/p>\n<p>It aims to shortlist three contractors to bid for the 145,000 sq ft new build element and potential refurbishment of some existing buildings on the John Dalton site of the All Saints campus<\/p>\n<p>As part of the enabling works\u00a0package, the\u00a030,000 sq ft John Dalton West will be demolished.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"163817\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.constructionenquirer.com%2Fdirectory%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/enquirer_directory_mpu.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Site building works are expected to start in December 2020.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_244458\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Science-and-Engineering-MMU.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-244458 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Science-and-Engineering-MMU.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2068\" height=\"1142\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">New engineering and science building will be linked to an adjacent building that will also be refurbished<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>There are also plans to refurbish around 90,000 sq ft of existing space within the university as part of\u00a0the\u00a0expansion.
