North West building services engineering specialist Ameon has stepped in to take over the \u00a32m mechanical and electrical element of the Murrays\u2019 Mills development in Ancoats, Manchester.<\/p>\n

Ameon is now working with main contractor, Graham Construction following the withdrawal from the project of the original M&E contractor Imtech.<\/p>\n

Ameon has has deployed 85 skilled technicians, plumbers, heating engineers, electricians and ancillary trades\u2019 people on the project.<\/p>\n

Murrays\u2019 Mills had been the only one of the six phase one Man Life developments in Ancoats that Ameon had failed to land originally.<\/p>\n

The development of 1, 2 & 3-bed residential apartments is set in Ancoats Conservation area in the original Grade II listed buildings that had once been the world\u2019s first steam-powered cotton mills.<\/p>\n

Ameon\u2019s managing director, Robin Lawson said: \u201cIt\u2019s not an ideal scenario to have to pick up a part complete project but we are already attuned to the requirements of the developer, having worked on the other phase one developments in Ancoats.<\/p>\n

“We are now ploughing resources into the contract to get it back on track, and are working with a very supportive main contractor to deliver on behalf of Man Life, which is the most important thing.\u201d<\/p>\n
