The lobbying body for UK architects has won a major concession to keep the flow of foreign designers coming post Brexit.<\/p>\n

The concessions have been won following a long running campaign by the Royal Institute of British Architects.<\/p>\n

It throws into focus initiatives by construction’s “influential and dynamic leadership” trade body Build UK.<\/p>\n

One contractor said: “Fair play to RIBA they have done a good job here.<\/p>\n

“But who is going to build their scheme’s post Brexit?<\/p>\n

“I’m not sure what the construction lobbying bodies are doing or if they have any influence whatsoever.”<\/p>\n

From January the Tier 1 (Exceptional Talent and Exceptional Promise) visa will be available to applicants from architecture.<\/p>\n

RIBA said: “This follows a year of work with partners in government to secure a new route for highly-skilled architects to come to the UK \u2013 a significant opportunity for the UK to attract the best and brightest international talent in architecture.”<\/p>\n
