Wates Construction Midlands has appointed former Bouygues construction director Richard Woolmore as new operations director in the Midlands.<\/p>\n

Woolmore will work alongside existing operations director, Mark Jones, who was promoted to the role in 2015 having previously been construction manager.<\/p>\n

They will be responsible for Wates Construction’s projects across the East and West Midlands.<\/p>\n

Woolmore will also be involved in a number of projects procured via Wates\u2019 position on the Scape \u2013 Major Works UK framework.<\/p>\n

Woolmore boasts over 30 years of experience with Tier 1 contractors including stints at Galliford Try, Interserve and Kier.<\/p>\n

John Carlin, managing director at Wates Construction Midlands, said: \u201cRichard\u2019s appointment is a strategic step in our rapid growth across the region as we continue to seek new opportunities while generating a local economic and social impact.”<\/p>\n

Wates was recently appointed by London Continental Railways to construct buildings One and Four of the \u00a3135m Axis Square development and is working on The Bank 2 on Broad Street, following completion of the neighbouring 21-storey building.<\/p>\n
