But Nikal\u00a0will now submit fresh proposals in early 2019\u00a0 for a landmark building that has been mooted at 46-storeys.<\/p>\n<p class=\"au\"><span class=\"ai\">This would make it the tallest residential tower in Birmingham.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"au\"><span class=\"ai\">The tower,\u00a0will form part of a new urban village at Exchange Square, and will be a gateway landmark for those arriving at the Birmingham HS2 Curzon Street Station, which is directly opposite the site.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"145848\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rics.org%2Fuk%2Fproducts%2Fdata-products%2Fdemo%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Construction Enquirer MPU.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"au\"><span class=\"ai\">Presently, Sir Robert McAlpine is working on the first phase of developer Nikal\u2019s Exchange Square in Birmingham City Centre, which\u00a0 consists of three buildings, including a 27 storey tower.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"av\"><span class=\"ag\">Helen Gordon, Chief Executive of Grainger, said:\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"ao\">&#8220;We are delighted to announce today&#8217;s acquisition at Exchange Square in Birmingham for \u00a377m, which will deliver 373 homes for rent in a great central location in one of our top target cities.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"av\"><span class=\"ao\">Once Exchange Square is complete, Grainger will have 529 purpose-built PRS homes in Birmingham worth c.\u00a3105m, including our other PRS development scheme, Gilders Yard in the Jewellery Quarter.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"aw\"><span class=\"ao\">Waheed Nazir, Corporate Director, Birmingham City Council said:\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"ao\">&#8220;The skyline in Birmingham City Centre is changing rapidly and investment and confidence is at an all-time high.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"247443\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ciobacademy.org%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Construction enquirer Academy MPU Final.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"at\">\n<p>from Construction Enquirer https:\/\/ift.tt\/2Lql6Vq<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Funding has been secured for one of Birmingham&#8217;s tallest residential blocks in the second phase of the City&#8217;s Exchange\u00a0Square scheme.
