{"id":1577,"date":"2018-12-19T09:23:36","date_gmt":"2018-12-19T09:23:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=1577"},"modified":"2018-12-19T09:23:36","modified_gmt":"2018-12-19T09:23:36","slug":"government-to-implement-hackitt-review-in-full","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/government-to-implement-hackitt-review-in-full\/","title":{"rendered":"Government to implement Hackitt review in full"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The government will implement all of the recommendations from Dame Judith Hackitt&#8217;s review of building regulations and fire safety following the Grenfell disaster.<\/p>\n<p>Housing and communities secretary James Brokenshire has pledged to introduce a tougher and more effective regulatory framework to improve building safety standards across the country.<\/p>\n<p>He said there\u00a0would be no hiding place for those who break safety rules.<\/p>\n<p>The government has established a Joint Regulators\u2019 Group to trial elements of a new regulatory system ahead of any new legislation.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"136297\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ciob.org%2Ffellowship-fciob%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Fellowship MPU.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The group will link together existing regulatory bodies &#8211; Local Authority Building Control, The National Fire Chiefs Council, the Health &amp; Safety Executive and Local Government Association &#8211; to work with developers, building owners and tenants, to develop and test fresh approaches.<\/p>\n<p>Further details about planned changes to regulatory systems will be announced in the Spring.<\/p>\n<p>He also confirmed the Government&#8217;s earlier commitment to a full-scale review of the guidelines, known as \u2018Approved Document B\u2019 and issued a call for evidence.<\/p>\n<div class=\"break-out-box\">\n<h3>Building a Safer Future &#8211;
