Kirkland and G F Tomlinson.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Broadmarsh_New_Build_Canal_Middle_Hill_View-1392x766.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-268833\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Broadmarsh_New_Build_Canal_Middle_Hill_View-1392x766.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1392\" height=\"766\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Approval to proceed with the shopping centre and car park redevelopments are essential parts of the Broadmarsh regeneration programme of the southern city centre, which will see \u00a3250m invested in the area and see works begin early next year.<\/p>\n<div class=\"break-out-box\">\n<h3>Broadmarsh Regeneration plan<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Redevelop intu Broadmarsh into a modern retail and leisure destination<\/li>\n<li>Create a pedestrianised and pedestrian friendly area between intu Broadmarsh and Nottingham Station<\/li>\n<li>Provide a brand new bus station and car park<\/li>\n<li>Create a state of the art Central Library<\/li>\n<li>Transform Nottingham Castle into a world-class tourist destination<\/li>\n<li>Develop a new Nottingham College building.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>The intu Broadmarsh and Car Park developments have been funded by significant private sector investment, grants and future income from these developments.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"163817\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.constructionenquirer.com%2Fdirectory%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/enquirer_directory_mpu.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Councillor Jon Collins, Leader of the City Council, said: \u201cThis is the latest step in turning our proposals for the Broadmarsh area into reality, and approval means that subject to contracts being signed, works in the area can start very quickly and hopefully very soon.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe City Council and our partners are investing heavily in this redevelopment, which is inspiring private sector investment around the area, at Unity Square, City Buildings and the Island Site to name a few, meaning there will be better opportunities for those who live and work here and more prosperity for local people.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The money the council is investing in this is not council tax \u2013 we have secured external funding and loans, supported by increasing car parking, advertising and rental income so council services aren\u2019t affected.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"128602\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Felfinkitchens.co.uk%2F%3Futm_source%3DConstruction%2520Enquirer%26utm_medium%3DMPU%26utm_campaign%3D100718%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Elfin_Construction-Enquirer-mpu_cyan-300x250-5.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<p>from Construction Enquirer https:\/\/ift.tt\/2EDCVjB<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nottingham City Council has agreed on a \u00a350m cash injection to allow the redevelopment of the Broadmarsh shopping centre finally to\u00a0start.
