{"id":1607,"date":"2018-12-20T08:35:10","date_gmt":"2018-12-20T08:35:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=1607"},"modified":"2018-12-20T08:35:10","modified_gmt":"2018-12-20T08:35:10","slug":"mace-sells-84m-sheffield-prs-and-student-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/mace-sells-84m-sheffield-prs-and-student-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Mace sells \u00a384m Sheffield PRS and student scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mace has sold its mixed-use residential and student development site in the centre of Sheffield before construction has got underway.<\/p>\n<p>West Midlands developer, Cassidy Group, has bought the scheme, where demolition is being finished ahead of work starting in February.<\/p>\n<p>The Hoyle Street site, which is within walking distance of the University of Sheffield, gained planning three months ago for 658 student beds and 247 flats.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"216017\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.conquest.ltd.uk%2Fq-500%2F%3Futm_campaign%3DQ_500%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_source%3Dconstruction_enquirer\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Noticeboard-Advert-Con Enq (2).gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Designed by Jefferson Sheard Architects, the 12-storey building complex plan also features an iconic grade II listed cementation furnace for steel making, the only one of its kind to survive undamaged in Britain.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_164462\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/180326-Hoyle-Street-2-1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-164462 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/180326-Hoyle-Street-2-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Daniel Doncaster and Sons built the furnace in 1848 to produce steel through the cementation process.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>David Grover, Mace\u2019s Chief Operating Officer for Development, said: \u201cThis sale reflects the strength of the market in Sheffield \u2013 things are moving really quickly and there is clearly huge potential for further development and growth in the city.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"134243\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=++https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vpgroundforce.com%2Fgb%2Fshoring-equipment%2F%3Futm_source%3DGFS%2520CE%2520MPU%2520Advert%26utm_medium%3DWebsite%26utm_campaign%3DGFS%2520CE%2520MPU%2520Advert%26utm_term%3DGFS%2520CE%2520MPU%2520Advert%26utm_content%3DShoring%2520Equipment%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/grounforce37640-GF Shorco 300x250px CE Ad B.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;I am pleased that we have been able to sell the project to a British development company with a great track record of delivering similar schemes across the country.
