{"id":1873,"date":"2019-01-08T10:38:30","date_gmt":"2019-01-08T10:38:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=1873"},"modified":"2019-01-08T10:38:30","modified_gmt":"2019-01-08T10:38:30","slug":"mace-lands-150m-stansted-airport-terminal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/mace-lands-150m-stansted-airport-terminal\/","title":{"rendered":"Mace lands \u00a3150m Stansted Airport terminal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>London Stansted has appointed Mace as the main contractor for the construction of its new \u00a3150m arrivals terminal.<\/p>\n<p>Work on the 39,000 square metre terminal is due to start this spring and is scheduled for completion in autumn 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The terminal is the flagship project in the airport\u2019s \u00a3600m transformation, which will support its future growth and pioneer the next generation of travel at London Stansted.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/GPvpR7qYbzs\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em>To mark the award, a fly-through animation has been released showing what the airport will look like following the transformation.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Ken O\u2019Toole, CEO of London Stansted, said: \u201cLondon Stansted\u2019s transformation project is really gathering momentum. We\u2019ve made fantastic progress so far, but it\u2019s this year when the project starts to take-off when work begins on our arrivals terminal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"145884\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fndtg.training%2Fccdo-card%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/CCDO-Banner-Loop.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;The terminal is the most significant contract the airport has awarded as part of this project, and when complete it will provide a first-class, technology enabled, experience for our passengers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Stansted-Airport-arrivals-interior.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-275832\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Stansted-Airport-arrivals-interior.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1726\" height=\"1142\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Gareth Lewis, Mace\u2019s Chief Operating Officer for Construction, said: \u201cMace has a long heritage in the safe and successful delivery of major aviation projects across the world.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"95430\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.nasc.org.uk%2Fnews%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/CE_NASC_FREE-GUIDANCE.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;This will be our first major construction project at Stansted since 2008, and we look forward to working closely with Manchester Airports Group to deliver the terminal.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The arrivals terminal will include larger immigration and baggage reclaim areas, new retail facilities, a public forecourt and improved access for all onward transport options.
