Two major contract wins have confirmed Sir Rober McAlpine is back as a major player in the London market.<\/p>\n

The firm topped the October contracts league after securing Deutsche Bank’s new HQ project above Moorgate Crossrail station and the next major rebuild phase of Broadgate.<\/p>\n

Both 21 Moorfields for Land Securities and 1-2 Broadgate for Blue Button are valued by information specialist\u00a0Glenigan<\/a> at around \u00a3250m each.<\/p>\n

On the strength of these major project wins McAlpine jumped from eleventh position to fifth in the annualised contracts league. <\/p>\n

Kier continues to lead the pack in the rolling 12-month league table, chased by Wates and Galliford Try with Willmott Dixon rising to fourth place for the first time this year.<\/p>\n

Among the other big contract wins in a busy month of orders, Lendlease secured a \u00a3300m order for the Bishopsgate Leadenhall project in the Square Mile. <\/p>\n

Still in London Mace was confirmed main contractor on \u00a3215m Marshgate I scheme for University College London at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park<\/p>\n

Social housing specialist Hill Partnerships picked up four contracts from Rushmoor Borough Council for regeneration schemes in Aldershot and Farnborough worth a total of \u00a3275m. <\/p>\n

Laing O\u2019Rourke was appointed to finish Carillion’s stalled Royal Liverpool Hospital in a deal estimated to be worth \u00a3250m. <\/p>\n

Regional contractor GMI scooped the \u00a3125m Follingsby Max Logistic & Distribution Centre in Gateshead, while McLaren Construction has netted the \u00a3120m Leicester City Training ground project.<\/p>\n
