{"id":2183,"date":"2019-01-17T18:38:14","date_gmt":"2019-01-17T18:38:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=2183"},"modified":"2019-01-17T18:38:14","modified_gmt":"2019-01-17T18:38:14","slug":"serious-fraud-office-launches-probe-into-north-west-sites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/serious-fraud-office-launches-probe-into-north-west-sites\/","title":{"rendered":"Serious Fraud Office launches probe into North West sites"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Serious Fraud Office has opened an investigation into a suspected fraud concerning three property developments across the North West of England.<\/p>\n<p>Search warrants were executed on Thursday at a number of addresses across the UK in conjunction with Merseyside Police as part of a joint investigation with North-West Regional Organised Crime Unit.<\/p>\n<p>The three developments being investigated are:<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"145884\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fndtg.training%2Fccdo-card%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/CCDO-Banner-Loop.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Angelgate, Dantzic Street, Manchester \u2013 the development company being Pinnacle (Angelgate) Ltd;<\/li>\n<li>North Point Pall Mall, 70-90 Pall Mall, Liverpool \u2013 the development company being North Point (Pall Mall) Ltd; and<\/li>\n<li>New Chinatown, Great George Street, Liverpool \u2013 the development company being China Town Development Company Ltd.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <em>Enquirer<\/em> has reported extensively on the problem projects as they suffered failing contractors, developers and complaints from Far East investors who had paid millions up-front for flats.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"93789\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.constructionline.co.uk%2Fevents%2F\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Constructionline-MTB-GIF.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The SFO said it &#8220;cannot comment any further at this stage.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Officers are asking members of the public who have invested in any of the three property developments to complete a questionnaire <a href=\"https:\/\/sfohills.egressforms.com\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"142065\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=+http%3A%2F%2Fwww.plantworx.co.uk%2Fevent%2F2019%2Fexhibit%3F_toolbar%3Dexhibit%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/PWx2019-Button-Ad-300x250.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"145884\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fndtg.training%2Fccdo-card%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/CCDO-Banner-Loop.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"break-out-box\">\n<p><strong>New Developer starts demolition at Pall Mall site<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Pall-Mall-Liverpool-ready-for-demolition.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-279672\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Pall-Mall-Liverpool-ready-for-demolition-390x264.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"390\" height=\"264\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Developer Elliot Group has begun demolition of the part-built residential scheme on Pall Mall in Liverpool that it bought from the receivers of North Point Global in November.<\/p>\n<p>Liverpool-based Mees Demolition has moved on site to begin a twelve week programme which will see the eight floor concrete frame flattened and the removal of several thousand tonnes of concrete.<\/p>\n<p>Elliot Lawless of Elliot Group said: \u201cWe promised we\u2019d get cracking as soon as possible and it\u2019s great to see so many lads on site.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Work is progressing with architects Falconer Chester Hall on a new plan for a comprehensive mixed-use scheme which Lawless hopes to present to council officers for review in around six weeks\u2019 time.<\/p>\n<p>The original scheme had planning permission for 366 homes but\u00a0Lawless said that his ambition is to develop a mixed-use scheme which balances employment uses with residential.<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cThis is on the northern boundary of the business district and would make a natural extension for it so we\u2019re examining the feasibility of office uses alongside hotel, leisure and residential provision and will seek the council\u2019s views shortly.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Whatever we collectively agree, it will be better than what came before and will create more jobs and infrastructure for the city.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>from Construction Enquirer http:\/\/bit.ly\/2FDfNBn<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Serious Fraud Office has opened an investigation into a suspected fraud concerning three property developments across the North West of England.
