Willmott Dixon has landed its sixth project in Doncaster in three years after striking a deal with Doncaster Council to build a \u00a315m central library and museum.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Doncaster town centre project on the junction of Waterdale and Chequer Road will see\u00a0four existing buildings consolidated into a new cultural and learning centre.<\/span><\/p>\n

This will feature a new library, rail heritage centre, art gallery and museum.<\/span><\/p>\n

Designed by the architect Bond Bryan, the cultural and learning centre will retain and restore the central frontage of the former Hall Cross Girls School building.<\/span><\/p>\n

It will be encased in a glass fa\u00e7ade to showcase Doncaster\u2019s past architectural heritage.<\/span><\/p>\n

When completed in summer 2020, the new space will help support the local and creative economy by providing opportunities for young people and small business owners to develop skills that help build a successful career.<\/span><\/p>\n

Willmott Dixon run of projects has been secured through the Scape procurement body.<\/p>\n
