{"id":2462,"date":"2019-01-28T15:17:15","date_gmt":"2019-01-28T15:17:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=2462"},"modified":"2019-01-28T15:17:15","modified_gmt":"2019-01-28T15:17:15","slug":"firms-named-for-1bn-east-london-framework","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/firms-named-for-1bn-east-london-framework\/","title":{"rendered":"Firms named for \u00a31bn East London framework"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The regeneration company behind the \u00a31bn regeneration of Barking town centre in East London has unveiled the full line-up of main contractors it plans to use.<\/p>\n<p>The council\u2019s wholly owned urban regeneration company Be First will use seven firms to deliver over 40 projects.<\/p>\n<p>Today Be First revealed that McLaren Construction, Willmott Dixon and Wates have secured places on lot\u00a02 to deliver projects worth over \u00a310m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"216017\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.conquest.ltd.uk%2Fq-500%2F%3Futm_campaign%3DQ_500%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_source%3Dconstruction_enquirer\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Noticeboard-Advert-Con Enq (2).gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>They complement the four other partners that were selected at the end of last year to deliver smaller projects up to \u00a320m.<\/p>\n<div class=\"break-out-box\">\n<h3>Be First framework partners<\/h3>\n<h4>Projects over\u00a0\u00a310m value &#8211; total \u00a3750m<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>McLaren Construction<\/li>\n<li>Willmott Dixon Construction<\/li>\n<li>Wates Residential<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>Projects up to \u00a320m value &#8211; total \u00a3250m<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>J.Murphy &amp; Sons<\/li>\n<li>Jerram Falkus Construction<\/li>\n<li>Mulalley &amp; Company<\/li>\n<li>United Living (South)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p>As part of the Lot 2 tender process, McLaren Construction has secured the contract to build one of Be First\u2019s flagship projects, Crown House.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_284147\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Screenshot-2019-01-28-at-13.16.44.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-284147 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Screenshot-2019-01-28-at-13.16.44.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"954\" height=\"792\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Crown House scheme will consist of 400 homes in two high rise buildings<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Under the plan, the existing Crown House tower block will be demolished and replaced with two new apartment\u00a0blocks due to complete by April 2021.<\/p>\n<p>Kevin Taylor, chairman at McLaren, said: \u201cWe look forward to working with Be First and the people of Barking and Dagenham to help bring to life the ambitions for the borough.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Together the Lot 1 and 2 projects are worth almost \u00a31bn and cover Be First\u2019s development projects and related infrastructure schemes.<\/p>\n<p>Iain Ferguson, commercial director at Be First, said: \u201cWe are happy to announce the winners of Lot 2 of our Development Framework.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have now completed the set.
