{"id":2504,"date":"2019-01-29T17:18:31","date_gmt":"2019-01-29T17:18:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=2504"},"modified":"2019-01-29T17:18:31","modified_gmt":"2019-01-29T17:18:31","slug":"morgan-sindall-to-build-5m-modular-school-in-nine-months","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/morgan-sindall-to-build-5m-modular-school-in-nine-months\/","title":{"rendered":"Morgan Sindall to build \u00a35m modular school in nine months"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Morgan Sindall has been appointed to build a new \u00a35m primary school and nursery in Derby in just nine months.<\/p>\n<p>Hackwood Primary\u00a0will provide more than 200 school places and is a Sunesis Mosaic modular model.<\/p>\n<p>Derby City Council has commissioned the new 14,000 square foot school in collaboration with residential developers Redrow Homes East Midlands and Miller Homes.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"94471\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.wicona.co.uk%2Fen%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/W_CE_140818.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The house builders are funding the project as part of their plans to build more than 700 new homes on the neighbouring Hackwood Farm estate.<\/p>\n<p>The modular single-storey school, designed by Lungfish Architects, will house six classrooms and a 26-place nursery.<\/p>\n<p>The expandable layout will allow additional teaching space to be added in the future, taking the total capacity up to 315.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"92680\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.intersteels.com%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/intersteel_mpu_advert[1].gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Work is scheduled to start this month and is expected to complete in time for the new academic year in September 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Rob Cant, framework director at Morgan Sindall Construction &amp; Infrastructure in the Midlands, said: \u201cInnovative framework procurement options offer long-term social value for councils and the communities they serve.
