hunt starts for \u00a350m Leicester mixed-use scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Developer LCL has launched plans for a \u00a350m mixed-use scheme to transform the St George\u2019s North area of Leicester city centre.<\/p>\n<p>Design practice, rg+p has come up with a vision for Fleet Village including new apartments alongside 3,000 sq ft of retail units.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Enquirer<\/em> understands LCL are in preliminary discussions with a number of contractors but are keen to talk to other companies.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"223316\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.4ps.co.uk%2F4ps-construction-software\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/updated version.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The developer is hoping that work will start on site in Spring 2019.<\/p>\n<p>Chris May, partner at Howes Percival, commented on behalf of LCL: \u201cThis area of Leicester has seen little or no growth for the past 15 years and is desperately in need of regeneration.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We believe the proposed development, which is expected to create up to 100 new jobs during construction, is the right catalyst for this much needed regeneration.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"148510\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vitalenergi.co.uk%2Flondon%2Fservices%2F%23energy-centre-health-check++\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/vital.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cThe scheme seeks to provide a range of new homes to suit the local housing market as well as retail and leisure facilities we feel will benefit the community.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Fleet Village represents a major investment for our home city and we\u2019re really excited about what it could mean for those wanting to live, work and play in Leicester.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We\u2019re hopeful for a positive outcome from our planning applications very soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"145848\" track record delivering similar schemes in Leicester, having successfully completed 250 apartments at Clyde Court on Erskine Street and Markfield Court off Abbey Park Street.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Impression-of-the-landscaped-courtyard-at-Fleet-Village-Leicester.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone
