{"id":2768,"date":"2019-02-06T09:11:07","date_gmt":"2019-02-06T09:11:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=2768"},"modified":"2019-02-06T09:11:07","modified_gmt":"2019-02-06T09:11:07","slug":"london-office-building-to-be-raised-by-six-floors","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/london-office-building-to-be-raised-by-six-floors\/","title":{"rendered":"London office building to be raised by six floors"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Developer\u00a0London + Regional Properties has submitted plans to reconfigure and extend a major office building next to London&#8217;s Elephant &amp; Castle tube station.<\/p>\n<p>Skipton House, built in 1993, will be partially demolished and extended upwards by six floors, under plans drawn up by architect Piercy &amp; Company.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<p>The plans to overhaul and reclad Skipton House will see overall floor space nearly doubled from around 250,000 sq ft to 450,000 sq ft.<\/p>\n<p>The proposed new 12-storey building, to be known as No1 Elephant, will include a full height central atrium.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Screenshot-2019-02-05-at-23.51.13.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-287454\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Screenshot-2019-02-05-at-23.51.13.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1250\" height=\"552\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Two new large RC cores will replace the four existing, these cores will have new piled foundations, configured to avoid existing foundations.<\/p>\n<p>The superstructure will be a lightweight steel frame with lightweight concrete slabs to keep the load increase on the existing foundations and adjacent infrastructure to a minimum.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<p>Atelier ten\u00a0are building services engineers on the project with\u00a0Heyne Tillett Steel providing\u00a0structural design.<\/p>\n<p>Assuming planning, the developer hopes to start on the project later this year.
