{"id":2988,"date":"2019-02-13T09:33:18","date_gmt":"2019-02-13T09:33:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=2988"},"modified":"2019-02-13T09:33:18","modified_gmt":"2019-02-13T09:33:18","slug":"council-seeks-partner-for-birmingham-ladywood-estate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/council-seeks-partner-for-birmingham-ladywood-estate\/","title":{"rendered":"Council seeks partner for Birmingham Ladywood Estate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Birmingham City Council is to take forward plans for a housing-led regeneration of the Ladywood Estate area.<\/p>\n<p>The council will now seek to appoint a development partner to drawn up a masterplan to deliver family housing alongside enhanced public spaces, pedestrian routes and community facilities.<\/p>\n<p>The city centre estate was largely built in the 1960s and has around 1,000 homes, two-thirds of which are owned by the council.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"209475\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.faset.org.uk%2Fmembers%2Ffaset-member-list%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/CE_FASET-MPU_FEB19.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The city\u2019s population is forecast set to grow by 10% over the next 15 years, creating a pressing need to deliver more affordable, family housing within accessible locations.<\/p>\n<p>Corporate Director for Economy, Waheed Nazir, said, \u201cIt has always been our intention, since we launched the Big City Plan in 2010, to bring forward a housing-led regeneration initiative for the Ladywood area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"94467\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.sapabuildingsystem.com%2Fen%2Fuk%2F%3Futm_source%3DCE%26utm_medium%3DBanner%26utm_campaign%3DBrand_Awareness%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/CE-Sapa-v1-1017.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;With Birmingham now enjoying a significant renaissance, there is an opportunity to secure a partner who shares our ambition to deliver more family housing and create a high-quality sustainable place for current and future residents.
