Safety and construction products supplier Barhale Construction Services has bought Scotland\u2019s traffic management and equipment supplier Fleming & Co. (Machinery).<\/p>\n

The acquisition strengthens BCS Group\u2019s signs and supplies division enabling it to them to expand its safety and hire offering into Scotland.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1882, Fleming & Co. is primarily associated with the supply of traffic management and site supplies and will complement BCS Group, a leading supplier of safety and construction products.<\/p>\n

James Mulchinock, General Manager at BCS Group, which is part of the Barhale Group, said that the acquisition would allow the business to bring its signs manufacturing in-house, reducing the need to rely on third parties.<\/p>\n

H e added: It also strategically fits well with our existing BCS Group offering by significantly widening our footprint.<\/p>\n

“The intention is to invest in the business, with innovative new stock lines and an increased stock holding, extending the supply chain and a full product catalogue.<\/p>\n

“Having a base on the doorstep of some of our key clients in Scotland will enable us to grow our customer base across the region.\u201d<\/p>\n

To help ensure the integration of Fleming & Co and the BCS Group in Scotland, Mark McKeown has joined the business as account manager for the region.<\/p>\n

He was previously at building supplies merchant Parkers, part of the Rexel Group.<\/p>\n
