Plans for a major \u00a3250m mixed use scheme in Wolverhampton were unveiled at MIPIM on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The Brewers Yard scheme is proposed for ten acres of brownfield land neighbouring University of Wolverhampton\u2019s Springfield Campus.<\/p>\n

It will see a mixture of 1,100 city houses and apartments, and 60,000 sq ft of new retail and commercial space, designed by Glancy Nicholls Architects.<\/p>\n

The scheme is aiming to deliver high-quality, affordable living in what will be some of City of Wolverhampton\u2019s tallest towers. The build programme is set to create 1,000 construction jobs.<\/p>\n

It is a joint venture between developer Court Collaboration, City of Wolverhampton Council and West Midlands Combined Authority, with works set to start on site in 2020.<\/p>\n

Anthony McCourt, CEO and Founder of Court Collaboration, said: \u201cThis is a real opportunity for the private and public sector to work together to bring forward and make viable a huge development opportunity.<\/p>\n

Councillor John Reynolds, Cabinet Member for City Economy, added: \u201cThis is a real game-changer for the City of Wolverhampton.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is part of \u00a34.3 billion of investment in the City of Wolverhampton that is also delivering jobs and opportunities for local people of all ages.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Brewers Yard scheme is also set to deliver hundreds of permanent new jobs, more than 1,000 construction jobs, and built environment apprenticeship and training opportunities for University of Wolverhampton students.<\/p>\n
