The University of Birmingham has started the search for four partner contractors to deliver ambitious development plans over the next decade.<\/p>\n

The university\u00a0expects to invest \u00a3700m in a pipeline of projects.<\/p>\n

It is now prequalifying contractors with the aim of inviting\u00a0tenders from shortlisted firms in May for a new\u00a0Main Contractor\u00a0Construction<\/span>\u00a0Framework covering projects worth more than \u00a310m.<\/p>\n

The University is part way through a \u00a31bn, 10-year planning and delivery\u00a0programme.\u00a0 Phase one worth of \u00a3350m is due to complete in 2021 and has seen Willmott Dixon and Morgan Sindall secure major projects.<\/p>\n

The University now plans to invest a further \u00a3600m transforming its campus between 2022 – 2026.<\/p>\n

Phase 2 continues to focus on students, with a significant academic building being delivered every year for five years.<\/p>\n

Firms have until the 25 April to complete prequals..\u00a0The successful quartet of contractors will be announced at the start of September.<\/p>\n
