for \u00a3175m Cumbrian deep coal mine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p2\">Cumbria County Council has given the green light for a 21st century deep coal mine in Cumbria requiring around \u00a3175m of investment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">To be known as Woodhouse Colliery, the new underground coking coal mine will be located on a brownfield site near Whitehaven in West Cumbria.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Radical designs for surface infrastructure will minimise any potential impact from noise, dust and light.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"158465\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.agd-equipment.co.uk%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/AGD300x250Master.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"p2\">Once construction of the mine is completed and Woodhouse Colliery moves into the operational phase, the company plans to extract and process around 2.5 million tonnes of\u00a0high-quality coal for use in the steel industry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p2\">Over the coming months, The West Cumbria Mining Company will continue to work with the council to finalise conditions, enabling the project to progress to the pre-construction and construction phases.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"124439\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=+http%3A%2F%2Fwww.hudsoncontract.co.uk%2Fliability%3Futm_source%3DConEnq%26utm_medium%3DBanner%26utm_campaign%3DFeb19%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" anticipated that site work will start before the end of 2019, with coal production commencing around 24-months from the start of construction.<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 16\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>WCM will move mined coal via a buried 2.2km long conveyor to a train loading facility, with its own dedicated siding, on the Cumbria Coast railway
