this year befoe delivering \u00a320m of savings in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"120377\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.palmersgroup.co.uk%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/CE_PALMERS-MPU_JAN19.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Kier also flagged-up &#8220;volume pressures&#8221; at its <span class=\"avg\">highways, utilities and housing maintenance markets<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>The building division was a bright spot with an <span class=\"asx\">underlying operating profit increase of <\/span><span class=\"asx\">74<\/span><span class=\"asx\">% to \u00a3<\/span><span class=\"asx\">3<span class=\"aum\">0.8<\/span><\/span><span class=\"asx\">m (<\/span><span class=\"atc\">H1 FY18<\/span><span class=\"asx\">:<\/span><span class=\"asx\">\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"asx\">\u00a3<\/span><span class=\"asx\">17.<span class=\"aum\">7<\/span><\/span><span class=\"asx\">m) as underlying operating margins rose to 3.<span class=\"aum\">4<\/span>% from 2.1%.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Group net debt at the end of the year was \u00a3180.5m despite a \u00a3250m rights issue in December.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"164828\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.biositesystems.com%2Fconstruction-workforce-difficulties-post-brexit%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/059.1-MPU-300x250 (1).gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>A large chunk of that was used to pay subcontractors and Kier said use of its <span class=\"avg\"> supply chain finance facility has increased to an average during the period of \u00a3196m from \u00a3176m.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Group average payment terms were 55 days.<\/p>\n<p class=\"awi\"><span class=\"avg\">Philip Cox, Executive Chairman, said;
