{"id":4280,"date":"2019-03-25T07:43:26","date_gmt":"2019-03-25T07:43:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=4280"},"modified":"2019-03-25T07:43:26","modified_gmt":"2019-03-25T07:43:26","slug":"120m-stockport-bus-station-scheme-gains-planning","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/120m-stockport-bus-station-scheme-gains-planning\/","title":{"rendered":"\u00a3120m Stockport bus station scheme gains planning"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Plans to transform Stockport bus station into a modern transport interchange with a roof top park above the bus station have gained planning.<\/p>\n<p>The \u00a3120m scheme also includes 17-storey tower of flats and offices, and a new cycle and pedestrian bridge to link the interchange with Stockport rail station.<\/p>\n<p>Construction of the new interchange scheme could start by spring next year, with completion estimated for 2023.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"122797\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\"\/><\/a><br \/>\n<SCRIPT language='JavaScript1.1' SRC=\"https:\/\/ad.doubleclick.net\/ddm\/adj\/N6250.2036112CONSTRUCTIONENQUIRE\/B22323192.240763326;sz=300x250;ord=[timestamp];dc_lat=;dc_rdid=;tag_for_child_directed_treatment=;tfua=?\"><br \/>\n<\/SCRIPT><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Located alongside the A6 and Mersey Square, the interchange will be funded by Transport for Greater Manchester, Stockport Council and the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.<\/p>\n<p>The other main element of the development will be a residential building off Daw Bank with up to 200 apartments and associated car parking, offering further attractive high-quality living space in the town centre.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_308265\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/StockportInterchange.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-308265 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/StockportInterchange.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"480\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">The residential building off Daw Bank will contain 200 flats and associated car parking<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The transport hub will be connected to the A6 by a lift, which will also open out onto the new, two-acre public park on the roof of the interchange building, next to the residential block.
