{"id":4330,"date":"2019-03-26T08:01:23","date_gmt":"2019-03-26T08:01:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=4330"},"modified":"2019-03-26T08:01:23","modified_gmt":"2019-03-26T08:01:23","slug":"vast-york-central-scheme-gains-outline-approval","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/vast-york-central-scheme-gains-outline-approval\/","title":{"rendered":"Vast York Central scheme gains outline approval"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Outline planning has been granted to develop over 2,500 homes and a new commercial district next to York railway station.<\/p>\n<p>More than \u00a3155m in funding is in place to fund infrastructure works needed to unlock the 45ha site, which is on one of the largest brownfield city centre sites in the UK.<\/p>\n<p>The outline planning application for York Central includes 2,500 homes, 900,000 sq ft of commercial\u00a0and 130,000 sq ft of retail and leisure space.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"299526\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.grid-point.co.uk%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Grid-Point-MPU-300x250-Feb-19-V1.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>This will be divided into four distinct development quarters with the site split into two with a ribbon park<\/p>\n<p>Communities Secretary James Brokenshire will need to rubberstamp planning for the scheme because of its size.<\/p>\n<p>The York Central Partnership development team is made up of major landowners, Homes England and Network Rail, which will act as master developers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"145884\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fndtg.training%2Fccdo-card%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/CCDO-Banner-Loop.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The National Railway Museum and City of York Council are also part of the development team.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Screen-Shot-2016-04-10-at-19.44.59.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-125418\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Screen-Shot-2016-04-10-at-19.44.59.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1324\" height=\"838\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Rob McIntosh, Route Managing Director for Network Rail, said: \u201cYork is at the brink of one of the most exciting developments in living memory.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We are delighted with the news that York Central has been given outline planning permission and is set to transform York into an even more exciting and vibrant city for its residents, visitors and tourists.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"145884\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fndtg.training%2Fccdo-card%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/CCDO-Banner-Loop.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;We look forward to playing our part in the development of such a nationally important scheme which will transform the lives of people, businesses and the local economy for years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The outline planning application has been developed by Avison Young, Allies &amp;
