L&amp;Q claims it will unlock a further \u00a34bn of investment in the North West by combining the capabilities and resources of the two housing associations to create 20,000 new homes over the next 10 years.<\/p>\n<p>The planned L&amp;Q takeover builds on a highly successful joint venture partnership that has already seen 679 housing starts with a further 1,493 in the pipeline since it was launched in April 2017.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"163817\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.constructionenquirer.com%2Fdirectory%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/enquirer_directory_mpu.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>L+Q has also pledged to spend \u00a32m each year improving the standard of THT\u2019s existing homes, as they come up for re-let.<\/p>\n<p>The acquisition is focused on investment and growth although over time, there will be savings by removing duplication and increasing efficiencies.<\/p>\n<p>L&amp;Q group chief executive David Montague said: \u201cL&amp;Q has an ambitious plan to build 100,000 quality new homes over the next 10 years to tackle the national housing crisis.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"102889\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.constructionskillspeople.com%2Fnvq-type%3Futm_source%3Dnewsletter%26utm_medium%3Dpartner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_content%3D20190308%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/CSP-CE-300x250-03.19.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&#8220;We see THT as a gateway to the North West, an area of outstanding growth that needs more high quality, affordable homes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are excited by the opportunity to invest in the North West with a partner that shares our social purpose, values and ambition, has excellent local knowledge and a strong reputation for innovation and delivery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Larry Gold, Acting Chief Executive of THT, added: \u201cThis is a unique creation that will be built on true partnership and the strength of our vision, and the people who will deliver it.
