Surrounding the building will be 11 full-size outdoor pitches, together with various smaller pitches.<\/p>\n
Indoor facilities include 35 bedrooms, a hydrotherapy pool, rehabilitation facilities and dining areas for the club\u2019s academy and first team, as well as administration offices and a media centre.<\/p>\n
The signature main building includes a full-size indoor artificial pitch.<\/p>\n \n The centre will include a sports turf academy, to train the next generation of grounds-people, and a 499-seat mini-venue show pitch, so that the under-23 and under-18 teams can experience a match environment.<\/p>\n Preparation of the site will continue over the course of the next month before foundations for the main buildings are set.<\/p>\n Kevin Taylor, chairman of McLaren,\u00a0said: \u201cWe are very excited to work on this prestigious project.<\/p>\n “It\u2019s a wonderful opportunity to partner with Leicester City to create a facility that will help to shape the next generation of top sportsmen and women \u2013 for the club and for the sport.”<\/p>\n \n The project supports biodiversity in the area, with the creation of 17 new ponds to attract wildlife and help to manage surface water drainage.<\/p>\n In addition, 38,000 new trees will be planted across more than 11 hectares of retained woodland, alongside 4.4 hectares of new planting and landscaping and 14.6 hectares of wildflower grassland.<\/p>\n The centre is set to complete in mid 2020.<\/p>\n \n![\"\"](\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/leicester-2.png\")
