A replacement contractor has been confirmed on a \u00a3200m green energy power plant in Hull after the original builder was removed from the job last month following construction delays.<\/p>\n

Energy Works Hull (EWH) has appointed Black & Veatch as Principal Contractor to oversee its final stages of commissioning.<\/p>\n

Black & Veatch replace M+W Group subsidiary MW High Tech Projects UK who won the job in 2016.<\/p>\n

Construction of the combined heat and power\u00a0 plant was originally due to be finished last year.<\/p>\n

At its peak, over 500 people were employed during the construction phase and a further 25 jobs will follow in the operational phase. More jobs are being supported in the supply chain.<\/p>\n

A project statement said: “The move to engage Black & Veatch follows the decision in March by shareholders of EWH, who include Bioenergy Infrastructure Group and Noy, to terminate MW High Tech Projects UK Limited\u2019s engineering, procurement and construction contract.”<\/p>\n
