{"id":479,"date":"2018-11-15T08:18:17","date_gmt":"2018-11-15T08:18:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=479"},"modified":"2018-11-15T08:18:17","modified_gmt":"2018-11-15T08:18:17","slug":"green-light-for-335-prs-flats-in-sheffield","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/green-light-for-335-prs-flats-in-sheffield\/","title":{"rendered":"Green light for 335 PRS flats in Sheffield"},"content":{"rendered":"<header>\n<div class=\"textblock\">\n<p>Sheffield City Council has granted planning consent for a new mixed-use development that will create 335 new build-to-rent homes in the\u00a0south west of the city centre.<\/p>\n<p>Build-to-rent specialist Platform_ is developing the 5-14 storey multi-block scheme at Sylvester Street on a site that has been vacant for the past 10 years and is currently used as a temporary car park.<\/p>\n<p>It will also offer communal dining facilities, residents\u2019 lounge, gym, bike club, alongside private and public amenity including roof terraces.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"223316\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.4ps.co.uk%2F4ps-construction-software\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/updated version.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>TateHindle designed the brick envelope scheme with Arup acting as structural and M&amp;E consultant.<\/p>\n<p>Jean-Marc Vandevivere, chief executive at\u00a0 PLATFORM_ said: \u2019This is a huge opportunity to raise the bar for city-centre living in Sheffield.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We\u2019re delivering\u00a0purpose-built rental housing that gives residents a quality home with professional service and additional on-site amenities \u2013 all of which are currently lacking in the traditional private rented sector \u2013 as well as contributing to the revitalisation of the city centre.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Work is expected to start on site early next year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/a1cb0000001HADKAA4.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-254449\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/a1cb0000001HADKAA4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1081\" height=\"795\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/header>\n<section id=\"responding-to-the-industrial-heritage\">\n<div class=\"textblock indent\">\n<p>The site is also adjacent to the Porter Brook corridor and one of the key aims has been to restore the importance of the brook, making it one of the focal points of the scheme.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;A new pedestrian route forms part of the emerging riverside walk, connecting the brook to the east and west, contributing to the wider regeneration of the area.<\/p>\n<section id=\"regenerating-the-porter-brook\">\n<figure class=\"imagestrip\"><\/figure>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<\/section>\n<p>from Construction Enquirer https:\/\/ift.tt\/2OMVkLv<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sheffield City Council has granted planning consent for a new mixed-use development that will create 335 new build-to-rent homes in the\u00a0south west of the city centre.
