{"id":4828,"date":"2019-04-10T07:40:13","date_gmt":"2019-04-10T07:40:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=4828"},"modified":"2019-04-10T07:40:13","modified_gmt":"2019-04-10T07:40:13","slug":"sisk-lands-31m-iom-ferry-terminal-in-liverpool","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/sisk-lands-31m-iom-ferry-terminal-in-liverpool\/","title":{"rendered":"Sisk lands \u00a331m IoM ferry terminal in Liverpool"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>John Sisk &amp; Sons will start construction of the Isle of Man Ferry Terminal in Liverpool in the summer after plans were approved.<\/p>\n<p>The terminal will be constructed at Princes Half-Tide Dock, nearly 700m downriver of the current Pier Head facility.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<p>Designs by architect The Manser Practice\u00a0include a riverside footbridge which will link the terminal to a proposed hotel, set to be built to serve both the Isle of Man terminal and the nearby cruise liner terminal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IoMTerminal_aerial-1030x611.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-316506\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IoMTerminal_aerial-1030x611.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1030\" height=\"611\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Funding for the terminal is subject to approval by Tynwald, the Isle of Man\u2019s parliament.<br \/>\nThe new terminal is scheduled to open in late 2020.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<p>It will sit within developer Peel&#8217;s \u00a35bn Liverpool Waters regeneration scheme which is transforming 60 hectares of the city\u2019s north docks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IoMTerminal_location-1030x645.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-316505\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/IoMTerminal_location-1030x645.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1030\" height=\"645\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Isle of Man infrastructure minister Ray Harmer said: \u201cThe Department has worked closely with the Isle of Man Steam Packet to deliver this project, and this has helped strengthen an already solid working relationship.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Importantly, the new terminal will enable the Isle of Man Government to have full control over its lifeline sea links to the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>\n<\/p>\n<p>from Construction Enquirer http:\/\/bit.ly\/2UN5X7T<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>John Sisk &amp; Sons will start construction of the Isle of Man Ferry Terminal in Liverpool in the summer after plans were approved.
