{"id":4924,"date":"2019-04-12T07:40:13","date_gmt":"2019-04-12T07:40:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=4924"},"modified":"2019-04-12T07:40:13","modified_gmt":"2019-04-12T07:40:13","slug":"green-light-for-95m-forterra-brick-factory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/green-light-for-95m-forterra-brick-factory\/","title":{"rendered":"Green light for \u00a395m Forterra brick factory"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Brick maker Forterra has got the planning green light to build Europe&#8217;s biggest brick factory in Leicestershire.<\/p>\n<p>The firm said it would now start work on the \u00a395m project to double production capacity at its Desford plant, subject to conditions and a legal agreement.<\/p>\n<p>The major investment promises to transform our Desford facility into both the largest and most efficient brick factory in Europe, while increasing our overall production capacity from 85m bricks to 180m bricks annually.<\/p>\n<p>This is enough to build 24,000 average-sized family homes.
