{"id":5012,"date":"2019-04-17T07:27:39","date_gmt":"2019-04-17T07:27:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=5012"},"modified":"2019-04-17T07:27:39","modified_gmt":"2019-04-17T07:27:39","slug":"firms-on-alert-for-m4-newport-185m-enabling-works","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/firms-on-alert-for-m4-newport-185m-enabling-works\/","title":{"rendered":"Firms on alert for M4 Newport \u00a3185m enabling works"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Welsh Government is calling up firms to attend a bidders\u00a0day ahead of inviting tenders for enabling works for the proposed \u00a31.3bn M4 corridor project around Newport.<\/p>\n<p>The public inquiry stage for the ambitious scheme to re-route a section of the M4 motorway has now been completed and a decision on whether to proceed to detailed design is anticipated shortly.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_319381\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Screenshot-2019-04-16-at-09.37.56.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-319381 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Screenshot-2019-04-16-at-09.37.56.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1504\" height=\"720\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Planned bridge for M4 Corridor around Newport project<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>A \u00a3185m package of enabling\u00a0works has been identified at the Port of Newport to deliver the proposed\u00a0route and new bridge.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"102889\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.constructionskillspeople.com%2Fnvq-type%3Futm_source%3Dnewsletter%26utm_medium%3Dpartner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_content%3D20190308%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/CSP-CE-300x250-03.19.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>This will involve\u00a0some of the port\u2019s existing marine operations and port\u2019s tenants being relocated to new facilities.<\/p>\n<p>The works include detailed designs of port buildings, civil infrastructure, dredging and marine structures.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"316743\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=mailto%3Aenquiries%40ntsafety.com%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/NTS-UK-Comp1.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>These will be carried out under the M4 CaN Docks Enabling Works contract in advance of, and separate to, the main motorway works.<\/p>\n<p>Procurement chiefs are planning to hold an Industry Day to introduce the project to the market and also to assess market conditions for tendering for the works and packaging of the project.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"145884\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fdemoexpo2019.com%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/NFDC -
