{"id":5032,"date":"2019-04-18T07:27:40","date_gmt":"2019-04-18T07:27:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=5032"},"modified":"2019-04-18T07:27:40","modified_gmt":"2019-04-18T07:27:40","slug":"goldman-sachs-bankrolls-brums-tallest-resi-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/goldman-sachs-bankrolls-brums-tallest-resi-project\/","title":{"rendered":"Goldman Sachs bankrolls Brum\u2019s tallest resi project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Joint venture partners Moda Living and Apache Capital have secured funding from Goldman Sachs to deliver Birmingham&#8217;s planned 42-storey residential tower.<\/p>\n<p>Contractor John Sisk is lined up to deliver the Broad Street skyscraper, which will be the tallest residential block in Birmingham.<\/p>\n<p>The \u00a3118m funding deal is Goldman Sach&#8217;s first foray into the UK build-to-rent market and signals growing confidence in the market among investors and funders.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_238386\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2083-GHA_MODABroadStreet_Elevation-LQ.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-238386 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2083-GHA_MODABroadStreet_Elevation-LQ.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1125\" height=\"2250\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Glenn Howells Architects designed the 132m tall building<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Work can now start on the 481-apartment tower, which has been designed exclusively for rent, offering hotel level service and a 200m running track around the podium building roof \u2013 one of the first in UK housing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<p>The Broad Street job will be Sisk\u2019s biggest Midlands scheme to date with a development value of \u00a3184m.<\/p>\n<p>Other high-profile projects the \u00a396m Circle Square mixed-use scheme in Manchester, as well as Quintain\u2019s huge Wembley Park 7,000-home build-to-rent development.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Ssk-Moda-Broad-Street.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-312071\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Ssk-Moda-Broad-Street.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1496\" height=\"1228\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The project will transform the derelict site of the former Click Club at Burberries, which\u00a0hosted bands such as Blur and Primal Scream, underpinning the regeneration of the Broad Street area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Johnny Caddick, managing director at Moda Living, said: \u201cWe are passionate about moving the bar for rental housing and I hope this visionary scheme can play a party in ushering in a new class of housing to Birmingham.
