{"id":5336,"date":"2025-05-12T06:46:48","date_gmt":"2025-05-12T06:46:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=5336"},"modified":"2025-05-12T06:46:48","modified_gmt":"2025-05-12T06:46:48","slug":"top-design-team-picked-for-2-5bn-york-central-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/top-design-team-picked-for-2-5bn-york-central-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Top design team picked for \u00a32.5bn YorK Central scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\" data-start=\"190\" data-end=\"365\">A heavyweight line-up of architects and designers have been picked to deliver the \u00a32.5bn York Central regeneration scheme.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"367\" data-end=\"572\">Joint developers McLaren Property and Arlington Real Estate have selected Allies and Morrison as lead masterplanner for the 45-hectare site, working alongside international landscape firm Grant Associates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"574\" data-end=\"906\">The design appointments mark a major step forward for the \u00a32.5bn scheme, which is being brought forward with landowners Homes England and Network Rail Property.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"574\" data-end=\"906\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"478038\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.creaghconcrete.co.uk%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/CE_Creagh.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"574\" data-end=\"906\">The project will deliver 2,500 homes, up to one million sq ft of office, retail and hospitality space, and major upgrades to York Railway Station and the National Railway Museum.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_497633\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/16172_Cam_Aerial-Match_01_Optimisation-Exercise-240701-Large.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-497633 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/16172_Cam_Aerial-Match_01_Optimisation-Exercise-240701-Large.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1620\" height=\"1080\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-caption-text\">One million sq ft of offices, retail and leisure uses, to the rear of York station, will create a vast employment hub for northern England.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"908\" data-end=\"1133\">Allies and Morrison, which created the original masterplan, will now lead the overall design and a new Innovation Hub.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1135\" data-end=\"1264\">Grant Associates\u00a0 will take on the parkland, public realm and future coal drops area.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1135\" data-end=\"1264\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"128950\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.jctltd.co.uk%2Fjct-construct%2Fdigital-subscriptions\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/JCT-Construct_ConstEnq_MPU_300x250px-2025.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1266\" data-end=\"1297\">The wider design team includes:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1299\" data-end=\"1674\">\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1299\" data-end=\"1366\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1301\" data-end=\"1366\"><strong data-start=\"1301\" data-end=\"1320\">Sheppard Robson<\/strong>, designing the 195,000 sq ft Government hub<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"\" data-start=\"1367\" data-end=\"1478\">\n<p class=\"\" data-start=\"1369\" data-end=\"1478\"><strong data-start=\"1369\" data-end=\"1391\">Cartwright Pickard<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"1396\" data-end=\"1421\">Corstorphine &amp;
