Jason Hunt from Willmott Dixon has been named the Chartered Institute of Building\u2019s Construction Manager of the Year.<\/p>\n

Hunt was the driving force behind a major refurbishment of Bristol Beacon – the city\u2019s largest concert hall.<\/p>\n

His leadership inspired a team to complete the complex project in less than five years, navigating challenges including hollow brickwork columns and hidden Elizabethan wells in the basement.<\/p>\n

Hunt also claimed top prize in the Construction Manager, Renovation and Restoration category.<\/p>\n

He said: “I\u2019m absolutely speechless, it\u2019s a fantastic award for me, the project and the industry at large. It\u2019s great to be recognised and I am proud to have done it, but it wasn\u2019t without its heartache.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe knew it was a special project when we took it on and it grew and grew. There were a lot of challenges, but to achieve what we did, as a Bristolian, is great.”<\/p>\n

Other award categories on the night included Rising Star, which was scooped up by Rohit Malhotra MCIOB of AtkinsR\u00e9alis and Sustainability Award, won by Ian Pritchett of Greencore homes.<\/p>\n
