Full surveys are underway, with 107 buildings being examined in a pilot phase.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"556\" data-end=\"760\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"468489\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.flanneryplanthire.com%2Fplant-operator-training%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/flannery.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-start=\"762\" data-end=\"960\">The Scottish Government expects the cladding remediation bill to land somewhere between \u00a31.7bn and \u00a33.1bn over 15 years, with inflation and optimism bias making up nearly half of the projected cost.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"962\" data-end=\"1128\">Public finance minister Ivan McKee said: \u201cWe\u2019re committed to doing what\u2019s right to fix buildings with unsafe cladding and ensure the cost doesn\u2019t fall on homeowners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1130\" data-end=\"1416\">The levy mirroring a similar charge already introduced in England will apply from April 2027 if the legislation is passed by Holyrood.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1130\" data-end=\"1416\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"468489\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.flanneryplanthire.com%2Fplant-operator-training%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/flannery.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-start=\"1130\" data-end=\"1416\">It will exempt social and affordable housing developments and include a review clause to adjust targets depending on housing market conditions.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1418\" data-end=\"1624\">The UK Government agreed to devolve powers for a Scottish levy last year.
