an animal diseases super-lab at the government\u2019s flagship Weybridge biosecurity campus in Surrey.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"240\" data-end=\"432\">The job, awarded by the Department for Environment, Food &amp; Rural Affairs, will see O\u2019Rourke take the project, consisting of two main buildings, through detailed design and construction.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"434\" data-end=\"750\">The hub forms the centrepiece of the government\u2019s \u00a32.8bn Science Capability in Animal Health (SCAH) programme, a 12\u201315 year redevelopment of the 93ha Animal and Plant Health Agency site near the M25 at New Haw.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"434\" data-end=\"750\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"497595\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.pragmatic-consulting.co.uk%2Fcourses%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" data-start=\"752\" data-end=\"1079\">O\u2019Rourke will lead a full multidisciplinary supply chain including MEP, biocontainment, and design specialists.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_498522\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Masterplan for full facility rebuild<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p data-start=\"752\" data-end=\"1079\">The project is the first major capital phase of the wider NBC redevelopment, which includes demolition of outdated stock, site-wide infrastructure upgrades, and the construction of new state-of-the-art laboratories.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"752\" data-end=\"1079\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"492636\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwinchmorebrickwork.co.uk%2Fabout-us%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" data-start=\"1081\" data-end=\"1179\">Design work is already underway, with most construction expected to ramp up between 2027 and 2032.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1181\" data-end=\"1314\">Facilities for the planned renewal programme will include 64,000m\u00b2 of high-containment labs, 24,000m\u00b2 of ancillary support buildings, and over 4,000m\u00b2 of office space.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1316\" data-end=\"1456\">The Government says the new centre will secure the UK\u2019s resilience against major animal disease outbreaks, many of which can jump to humans.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1458\" data-end=\"1633\">Mace is acting as programme delivery partner overseeing masterplanning, commercial strategy and delivery logistics, while Arup has been advising across the development phases.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1458\" data-end=\"1633\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"431748\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fvacukltd.co.uk%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" data-end=\"1856\">Estate rationalisation from 2032\u20132037<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1858\" data-end=\"2015\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">The B951 Science Hub will be a
