{"id":601,"date":"2018-11-19T15:43:56","date_gmt":"2018-11-19T15:43:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=601"},"modified":"2018-11-19T15:43:56","modified_gmt":"2018-11-19T15:43:56","slug":"blu-3-bags-enabling-works-for-1-1bn-stratford-scheme","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/blu-3-bags-enabling-works-for-1-1bn-stratford-scheme\/","title":{"rendered":"Blu-3 bags enabling works for \u00a31.1bn Stratford scheme"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Infrastructure specialist Blu-3 has secured the first enabling works package for the \u00a31.1bn East Bank culture and education district on Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.<\/p>\n<p>The London Legacy Development Corporation awarded the \u00a35m contract, the first of 24 packages to be let, to install utilities and prepare the Stratford Waterfront for the main works due to start in summer 2019.<\/p>\n<p>The 4.25 hectare site will see new buildings for Sadler\u2019s Wells, the BBC, UAL\u2019s London College of Fashion and the Victoria and Albert Museum.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"216019\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fnoticeboard-auth.conquest.ltd.uk%2Fhome%3Futm_campaign%3Dnotice_board%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_source%3Dconstruction_enquirer\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/Noticeboard-Advert-Con Enq (1).gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The site will also house 600 new homes.<\/p>\n<p>Blu-3 Contracts Manager, Jim Ball, said: \u201cBlu-3 is extremely proud to be involved in this huge project that will bring so much to the local area.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Lyn Garner, chief executive of LLDC, said: \u201cThis is the first of many opportunities to help build one of the largest and most significant culture and education projects in the world.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;East Bank will be a powerhouse of culture, education and innovation with world-class institutions.
