{"id":6122,"date":"2025-06-20T08:46:48","date_gmt":"2025-06-20T08:46:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=6122"},"modified":"2025-06-20T08:46:48","modified_gmt":"2025-06-20T08:46:48","slug":"timber-imports-rise-for-first-time-in-four-years-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/timber-imports-rise-for-first-time-in-four-years-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Timber imports rise for first time in four years"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"229\" data-end=\"351\">UK timber imports have seen their first quarterly rise since 2021, after a strong surge in March.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"353\" data-end=\"579\">The latest stats from Timber Development UK show the market bounced back after a sluggish start to the year.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"353\" data-end=\"579\">January saw volumes dip 1%, followed by a 9% slide in February, but a 13% surge in March turned the quarter positive.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"353\" data-end=\"579\">\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"128950\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.jctltd.co.uk%2Fjct-construct%2Fdigital-subscriptions\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/JCT-Construct_ConstEnq_MPU_300x250px-June2025.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-start=\"581\" data-end=\"883\">Softwood was the star performer, with imports climbing nearly 2% and value up 12% on the back of stronger prices.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"581\" data-end=\"883\">Sawn pine led the charge with volumes up 32%, largely thanks to Swedish mills, while planed softwood prices rose 9% and sawn softwood values jumped 16%.
