Bouygues UK has secured a major housing job in central London after being picked by Southwark Council to deliver a \u00a345m+plus scheme for key workers.<\/p>\n

The development will bring around 150 affordable flats to a site next to the Arnold Estate, close to London Bridge and Bermondsey stations.<\/p>\n

Rents will be set at London Living Rent levels and targeted at essential workers on household incomes between \u00a326,000 and \u00a367,000.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s the first scheme to come forward under the council\u2019s emerging Affordable Housing Supplementary Planning Guidance.<\/p>\n

A new community centre with a double-height events space and smaller support rooms will also be built as part of the project.<\/p>\n

Construction is expected to start in mid-2026 and complete in 2029.<\/p>\n

Cllr Helen Dennis, cabinet member for new homes, said: \u201cCreating affordable housing in London is always a challenge but Southwark Council is dedicated to meeting this challenge head-on as part of our 2030 strategy.\u201d<\/p>\n
