{"id":6252,"date":"2025-06-27T07:47:01","date_gmt":"2025-06-27T07:47:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=6252"},"modified":"2025-06-27T07:47:01","modified_gmt":"2025-06-27T07:47:01","slug":"developer-breck-to-transform-former-ibstock-brick-factory","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/developer-breck-to-transform-former-ibstock-brick-factory\/","title":{"rendered":"Developer Breck to transform former Ibstock brick factory"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Northern property developer Breck has completed the acquisition of the 21-acre former Ibstock Ravenhead Brickworks site in Upholland, near Wigan.<\/p>\n<p>The factory was decommissioned in 2023 and the site will be transformed into a new residential community of approximately 300 homes.<\/p>\n<p>The Lancashire-based developer aims to submit a detailed planning application by the end of this year to add to its current pipeline of around 2,000 homes across the North.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"494158\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.agd-equipment.co.uk%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/AGD002_AGD-MPU_Pilers_300x250_2.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Andy Garnett, director at Breck, said: \u201cThe acquisition is part of our commitment to regenerating communities across the North by identifying and unlocking strategic land opportunities.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As a well-funded business, we are able to act quickly when sites like Ravenhead come to market. We have purchased the potential development site without any existing planning permission at our risk.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough the site presents technical challenges, we are confident in our technical ability to transform it into a thriving community.
