Pinewood Group has submitted plans for a \u00a31bn data centre on land south of its iconic studios, with proposals including a 55,000m\u00b2 facility alongside a 60-acre nature reserve and six-acre community garden and learning space.<\/p>\n

The planning application to Buckinghamshire Council marks a major shift into digital infrastructure for the film studio giant, following the Government\u2019s 2024 move to designate data centres as Critical National Infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The proposed development lies within the Slough Availability Zone \u2013 a strategic hub for UK data capacity.<\/p>\n

Pinewood Group CEO David Conway said: \u201cThe significant investment will bring jobs and additional benefits to the local community with the delivery of a nature reserve, community gardens and learning space.\u201d<\/p>\n

The scheme is subject to outline planning approval by the end of 2025. A reserved matters application will follow once consent is granted.<\/p>\n
