Laing O’Rourke soared to the top of the contracts league rankings after winning a \u00a3919m order to deliver an animal diseases super-lab at the government\u2019s flagship Weybridge biosecurity campus in Surrey.<\/p>\n

Design work for the mega contract is already underway, with most construction expected to ramp up between 2027 and 2032.<\/p>\n

Multiplex ranked second with the next biggest order in June from developer Endurance Land for a London office project worth \u00a3300m at Old Street Roundabout in London.<\/p>\n

According to data compiled by\u00a0Barbour ABI,<\/a> the top 50 contractors saw the value of new orders jump by two thirds to \u00a33.8bn, supported by Laing O’Rourke’s mega order.<\/p>\n

The tables for most successful work-winning firms over the last 12 months saw Mace and McAlpine maintain first and second ranking respectively with Kier entering the top 3.<\/p>\n
