Roger Bullivant Limited has been appointed by leading contractor\u00a0 McLaren to deliver the piling works for the new Boxing Academy and school development in Hackney, East London.<\/p>\n
This project will see the transformation of an unfinished sports facility into a state-of-the-art education and sports scheme.<\/p>\n
The job is being delivered by McLaren on\u00a0 behalf of the Department for Education and the Boxing Academy Trust, with a strong focus\u00a0 on community impact and youth development.<\/p>\n
Mobilisation is already underway with piling works due to begin this month.<\/p>\n
RBL will install\u00a0\u00a0Continuous Displacement Auger\u00a0\u00a0(CDA) piles to depths of approximately 13\u201314 metres. The piling solution was selected for its cost-effectiveness and suitability to the site\u2019s ground conditions, which include made ground, Hackney Gravel, and London Clay from 4.5m below ground level.<\/p>\n
The CDA method, developed by RBL\u2019s in-house Research & Development team, is a cast insitu displacement piling solution\u00a0 designed as a more sustainable and efficient alternative to traditional Continuous Flight\u00a0Auger (CFA) piles.<\/p>\n
CDA piles are straight-shafted bored displacement piles that deliver\u00a0 enhanced load-bearing capacity while generating minimal spoil, reducing environmental\u00a0 impact and the need for off-site waste removal. Their ability to perform in a variety of soil types, including stiff clays and loose granular soils, makes them ideal for urban projects with\u00a0 moderate load requirements.<\/p>\n
