Roughly two-thirds of the new provision (\u00a3145m) has been allocated for expanded remedial works to fix these newly-identified defects.<\/p>\n
The rest covers further cladding-related works, escalating site costs, professional fees, and adjustments following updated fire engineering assessments.<\/p>\n
The sudden hike pushed Taylor Wimpey\u2019s cladding provision to over \u00a3434m and dragged down operating margins to 9.7% from 12% a year ago.<\/p>\n
Boss Jennie Daly said: \u201cThe safety of our customers remains our highest priority, and this principle has consistently guided our approach.\u201d<\/p>\n

The exceptional charge more than wiped out profits despite an 11% rise in group completions to 5,264 homes. Operating profit before the cladding and contractor charges was \u00a3161m, slightly ahead of expectations.<\/p>\n
But including the one-off \u00a320m cost of a failed contractor on a London site and a \u00a315.8m provision linked to the CMA\u2019s information-sharing probe, bottom-line figures were hammered.<\/p>\n

Group revenue rose 9% to \u00a31.65bn, while net cash fell to \u00a3327m from \u00a3584m as dividend payments and land investment continued.<\/p>\n
Full-year guidance remains unchanged at 10,400 to 10,800 UK completions with group operating profit forecast at \u00a3424m.<\/p>\n
Taylor Wimpey said it is \u201cwell positioned for growth\u201d with 90% of 2026 land needs already secured with full planning.<\/p>\n
