{"id":6982,"date":"2025-08-01T07:46:56","date_gmt":"2025-08-01T07:46:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/?p=6982"},"modified":"2025-08-01T07:46:56","modified_gmt":"2025-08-01T07:46:56","slug":"national-grid-names-contractors-for-8bn-of-substation-work","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cita.co.uk\/news\/national-grid-names-contractors-for-8bn-of-substation-work\/","title":{"rendered":"National Grid names contractors for \u00a38bn of substation work"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>National Grid has named its contracting partners for \u00a38bn worth of substation infrastructure work across England and Wales.<\/p>\n<p>The new contracting approach under the Electricity Transmission Partnership (ETP) will see National Grid adopt a longer term collaborative approach that builds strong regional partnerships with contractors.<\/p>\n<p>Rgional exclusivity for new build or substation upgrade work will be awarded to ETP partners over the five years of the deal to March 2031.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"478038\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.creaghconcrete.co.uk%2F%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/CE_Creagh.gif\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Regional delivery partners include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Balfour Beatty \u2013 North East region<\/li>\n<li>Morgan Sindall Infrastructure \u2013 North West region<\/li>\n<li>Murphy \u2013 South West (region one) and London &amp; South East region<\/li>\n<li>M Group Energy \u2013 South West (region two)<\/li>\n<li>OTW \u2013 Central West region<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An initial \u00a31.3bn worth of exclusive work will be awarded shortly giving partners first refusal of future substation work in their region.<\/p>\n<p>Two national partners, Linxon and Burns &amp; McDonnell, will support delivery of substation work that falls outside the scope of the regional partners\u2019 portfolios.<\/p>\n<p>The ETP model has the potential to be expanded beyond substations in future to include other network infrastructure.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ad-mpu ad-mpu-inline\">\n<div class=\"sleeve\"><a data-ad-id=\"488802\" href=\"http:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/themes\/constructionenquirer\/adclick.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Fjmclarkltd.co.uk%3Futm_source%3DDisplay%26utm_medium%3DMPU%26utm_campaign%3DConstruction%2BEnquirer%3Futm_source%3Dconstruction-enquirer%26utm_medium%3Dbanner%26utm_campaign%3Dconstructionenq-ads\" target=\"_blank\" onclick=\"track_ad_click(this);\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.constructionenquirer.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/a4 magazine template (1200 x 1200 px) (300 x 250 px) (2).png\"\/><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Alice Delahunty, president of National Grid Electricity Transmission, said: \u201cOur Electricity Transmission Partnership marks a bold shift in how we deliver vital electricity infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;By adopting a regional, long term approach, we\u2019re giving our supply chain the certainty to invest in people, skills and innovation.
