Developer The Pickstock Group has unveiled plans for the run-down Bill House site on Soho Hill in Birmingham where derelict buildings have been hit by a series of fires and anti-social behaviour.<\/p>\n

The development proposals follow early stakeholder engagement, supporting surveys,\u00a0 reports and planning appraisals to inform the transformation of the derelict site into a mixed-use community, helping to reinvigorate the wider area.<\/p>\n

Plans contain 115 new houses and apartments alongside an 80-bed care home.<\/p>\n

Liam Davies, Development Director for The Pickstock\u00a0 Group said: \u201cThe scheme offers a dynamic approach to different housing typologies, offering\u00a0 affordable housing, open market sale and lease options, alongside a supporting care provision offer.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Pickstock Group has collaborated with a multi professional consultant team to\u00a0 develop plans.<\/p>\n

Adam McPartland, Managing Director at Glancy Nichol Architects said:\u201cThis will be a\u00a0 comprehensive redevelopment of a brownfield site that is sensitive to the local\u00a0 characteristics, providing multi generation living, aligned with the needs of the local\u00a0 community.<\/p>\n

The scheme will create a sense of place that feels authentic, uplifting and\u00a0 contributing to the wider regeneration and delivery aspirations for the area\u201d.<\/p>\n

Jacob Bonehill, Director – Planning, RPS Group, said: \u201cThese\u00a0 proposals offer an opportunity to deliver much needed new homes and employment\u00a0 opportunities beyond the city centre. While the continued renaissance of the city core\u00a0 should be celebrated, for far too long the benefits of growth have been focused within the\u00a0 Inner Ring Road.<\/p>\n

“This is precisely why the vision set out in the Central Birmingham\u00a0 Framework 2045 rightly looks to support developments like this in locations such as Soho\u00a0 Hill.”<\/p>\n
